Gizmo is a VOIP software for mobile devices, but it also does Instant-messenger. I used it as my MSN client on Centro.
You have to register an Gizmo account, you can follow the instructions after you installed the gizmo client on Centro. It is a freeware, you can find it here:

It supports MSN, AIM, and Jabber clients, I used MSN very often, so I chose to use MSN with Gizmo.
One cool thing is that it supports running in background. You can still receive your friend's message while you are browsing the internet, checking email on Centro.
